Materials and Methods: Clinical records of 134 patients who were hospitalized in the tertiary ICUs of Our Hospital due to COVID-19 between October 1 and November 30, 2020 were reviewed retrospectively. All of these patients were aged over 65 years and hypertension was the most common comorbidity. The remaining 52 (38.8%) patients were ventilated invasively.

There is no data on co-morbidities and mortality and intensive care processes of patients presenting with chest pain.

2020. ARDS was diagnosed based on the Berlin definition published in 2011 (10)- يقوم أخصائيو التخدير والممرضات والأخصائيون في وحدة العناية المركزة على مدار الساعة برعاية المرضى في وحدات العناية المركزة. From the records, demographic and characteristics including age, gender, comorbidities, vital signs at the time of ICU admission, APACHE II score, airway status (invasive machineal ventilation, noninvasiveميكانيكي ventilation, high-flow nasal cannula, facemask oxygenation), and duration, the severity of ARDS, length of ICU stay, treatments and clinical
In normal distribution, 3 or more groups were compared by One-Way ANOVA.
The 134 patients comprised 80 (59.7%) women and 54 (40.3%) men with a mean age of 79.6 years. There was no difference in mortality between those who had chest pain and those who did not (p=0.089). Of this, 47.3% were those with chest pain complaints and the remaining 52.7% were those without chest pain (Table). Of these patients, 64.1% (n=50) died during the follow-up period. All patients underwent thoracic tomography (CT) and the most common radiological finding was bilateral diffuse ground-glas opacity (n= 56; 41.7%). Among medications, 47.8% (n=64) of the patients were using favipiravir and all the patients (100%) received empirical antibiotic treatment, with the most commonly used antibiotic being moxifloxacin (n=96, 71.6%). The number of patients with mild ARDS (n=92; 68.7%) was higher than that of patients with moderate and severe ARDS.
This rate was found to be 44.6% in a study conducted in China, 45.2% in Italy, and 56.6% in the USA (13–15)يشير الكتابة إلى أنه على الرغم من أنه ليس من الواضح ما إذا كان ارتفاع ضغط الدم يشكل عاملاً من عوامل الخطر بالنسبة للقسم 19، فإن المرض يمكن أن يحرز تقدماً أشد في المرضى الذين يعانون من ارتفاع ضغط الدم. (16).
Moradi et al. reported a relationship between white blood count and mortality A previous meta-analysis by Zhao et al. reported a correlation between lymphocyte count below 1.5109شدة الأمراض (17)- وفي دراستنا، كان عدد مرضى اللمفوسيتي الذين لم ينقذوا من المرض أقل من عدد المرضى الباقين على قيد الحياة، وكان متوسط عدد اللمفوسيتي أقل من 1x109/L. In our study, the number of patients with mild ARDS (n=92; 68.7%) was higher than that of patients with moderate and severe ARDS. The rate of mortality from Covid-19-related ARDS was reported as 39% in China, while the highest mortality rate in Europe was reported as 73% in Poland and as 13% in Germany. In a study conducted by Richardson et al., the mortality rate in patients with severe Covid-19 aged than 65 years who required invasive ventilation was determined as97%(15)هذا المعدل كان أعلى من معدل الوفيات في مرضانا الذين تعرضوا للتهوية الغازية
