Assessing the Impact of Information Communication Technology on Medical Education and Healthcare Delivery in Nigeria During Covid-19 Pandemic Lockdown

Oluwanisola Akanji Onigbinde, Jamila Umar.

Abstract
The Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), despite claiming millions of lives, has also made a devastating impact on the economy, education, and healthcare delivery of almost all the countries of the world. Notwithstanding, it seems the information and communication (ICT) sector ‘boomed’ and made a gross contribution to the global economy, education, healthcare delivery among others. Following the COVID-19 lockdown, health and education sectors were badly affected as access to healthcare delivery was impaired and most countries migrated their teaching and learning to an online mode for the continuation of learning; Nigeria was not left out either. This paper assessed the impacts of ICT on medical education and healthcare delivery in Nigeria during the covid-19 pandemic and the new normal.

Key words: ICT, COVID-19 pandemic, Nigeria, Medical education, Healthcare delivery
