6. Reporting guidelines
Authors should follow the relevant EQUATOR guideline: CONSORT for randomized trials, STROBE for observational studies, PRISMA for systematic reviews, STARD for diagnostic accuracy studies and CARE for case reports. Clinical trials must be prospectively registered; the registration number is given in the abstract.
7. Statistics
The Statistical Analysis subsection must describe all methods used, the significance level and the software (with version). Exact P values should be reported (e.g., P=0.048), together with effect sizes and 95% confidence intervals where appropriate.
8. References
References follow the Vancouver style, numbered consecutively in the order of citation in the text with Arabic numerals in parentheses. Journal titles are abbreviated according to the NLM Catalog. List all authors when six or fewer; otherwise list the first six followed by "et al." Include the DOI where available. Authors must not cite retracted articles except in the context of the retraction.
Example: Author AA, Author BB, Author CC. Title of the article. Abbreviated Journal Name. 2024;10(2):100-8. doi:10.xxxx/xxxxx
9. Tables and figures
Tables and figures are numbered consecutively and cited in the text. Each table has a short title; abbreviations are explained in footnotes. Figures must not contain identifying information about patients or institutions.
10. Language
Manuscripts must be written in clear English. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscript checked by a fluent speaker or professional editing service before submission; the journal does not recommend any specific provider and use of such a service does not guarantee acceptance.
11. Peer review, license and charges
All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review (see Peer Review Policy). Accepted articles are published open access under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), with copyright retained by the authors. There are no submission or review fees; a Publication Charge of USD 295 applies only after acceptance, and waivers are available (see the Publication Charge page).
