Convert common laboratory values between conventional and SI units: glucose, lipids, creatinine, urea, uric acid, bilirubin, calcium, haemoglobin and HbA1c.

How it is calculated
Each result is the value multiplied by a fixed factor (HbA1c uses a straight-line formula). The result is shown with four significant digits.
Reference ranges differ between laboratories; always compare a result with the range printed on the laboratory report.
SI value = factor × conventional valueHbA1c: IFCC (mmol/mol) = 10.929 × (NGSP % − 2.15)
Worked example: Glucose 100 mg/dL is 5.55 mmol/L; HbA1c 6.5 % is about 48 mmol/mol.

Questions
Why is the cholesterol factor not the same as the glucose factor?
The factor is the molar mass of each substance. Total, LDL and HDL cholesterol share one factor; triglycerides have another.
