How it works

Words are runs of letters or digits; a hyphenated word counts once. An abbreviation is a word of two or more capital letters.

The 20-word limit is common advice, not a rule of the journal. Keywords are looked for as written, ignoring capitals.

Worked example: A title of 8 words that contains "PCI" and "STEMI" lists both as abbreviations to spell out.

These tools support writing; they do not replace the Instructions for Authors or the advice of your co-authors and institution.

Questions

Does a long title hurt?

There is no fixed limit, but very long titles are hard to read and are cut off in search results. The journal asks for a concise and informative title without abbreviations.

Is my title sent anywhere?

No. It is analysed in your browser and never leaves your device.
