When is a DOI shown?
Only when the title, year and first author of the Crossref record agree with your reference. Otherwise the line stays empty, so you can check it by hand.
Is my reference list stored?
No. Each line is sent to Crossref as a search and forgotten; we keep only a daily count of how often the tool was used.
