- Sentence for the Methods section
How it works
The sentences are those of the journal's ethics approval template and are always English. In the blinded manuscript replace the committee name and number with "[blinded for review]" and give them on the title page.
Nothing is shown until every needed detail is filled in, so no half-sentence is produced.
These tools support writing; they do not replace the Instructions for Authors or the advice of your co-authors and institution.
Questions
Which sentence do I choose?
Approved study for research on people, consent waived if the committee waived it, case report for single patients, animal study for animal research, and "not required" for reviews and editorials without new data.
Is the sentence a legal declaration?
No. It only words what you tell it. The facts (committee, number, date) must be yours and may be checked by the editors.
