Author contribution statement generator (CRediT)

Tick the CRediT roles of each author and get the contribution statement in the wording of the journal's title page template.

This tool needs JavaScript, because it works in your browser and sends nothing. Turn JavaScript on to use it. How it works is explained below.

How it works

The statement has the form of the journal's template: the author, then the roles, one sentence per author. It is always English, as the manuscript is.

Authors without a ticked role are left out; check that everyone who meets the authorship criteria has at least one role.

These tools support writing; they do not replace the Instructions for Authors or the advice of your co-authors and institution.

Questions

What is CRediT?

The Contributor Roles Taxonomy: 14 standard roles that describe what each author did. Roles do not replace the ICMJE authorship criteria.

Where does the statement go?

On the title page, not in the blinded manuscript.
