Digital Archiving and Preservation Policy

The Ulutas Medical Journal is committed to the permanent availability of everything it publishes. If the journal ceases publication, changes its platform or its website becomes unavailable, the published content will remain accessible to readers.

Long-term preservation (Portico). The journal's content is deposited in Portico, a trusted third-party digital preservation archive, through the journal's publishing platform (eJManager / ScopeMed). Each issue is sent to Portico after publication; the archive covers the journal from Volume 1 (2015) onwards. The journal's preservation status can be checked in the Keepers Registry (ISSN 2149-0430 / 2149-388X). Content archived in Portico remains available even if the journal discontinues its current platform.

Persistent identifiers. Every article is assigned a Crossref Digital Object Identifier (DOI, prefix 10.5455/umj), and its metadata are deposited with Crossref. The DOI always resolves to the current location of the article.

Platform storage. The full text (PDF) and metadata of all articles are stored on the servers of the journal's publishing platform, eJManager (ScopeMed), with regular backups.

Self-archiving. Authors may deposit any version of their article, including the published version, in institutional or subject repositories, as described in the journal's Self-Archiving Policy and under the article's Creative Commons licence.

Questions about archiving can be sent to the Editor-in-Chief at editor-in-chief@ulutasmedicaljournal.com.
