Article Publication Charge (APC) and Waiver Policy
The Ulutas Medical Journal does not receive external funding. To cover the costs of editorial management, typesetting and PDF design (including colour figures), DOI registration and online hosting, the journal charges an Article Publication Charge (APC).

The APC is requested only after a manuscript has been accepted following peer review. Rejected manuscripts are never charged. No other fees are charged at any stage. Readers are never charged for access.
Editorial independence: Payment or waiver status has no influence on editorial decisions. Editors and reviewers are not informed whether authors have requested a waiver.
Waivers:
- Corresponding authors based in countries classified as low-income by the World Bank receive a full (100%) waiver.
- Corresponding authors based in lower-middle-income countries receive a 50% discount.
- Other authors who are unable to pay may apply for a full or partial waiver on the grounds of financial hardship; requests are assessed individually by the publisher.
Waiver requests must be made at submission by emailing ulutasmedicaljournal@gmail.com with the manuscript number and a brief justification. The publisher responds within 10 working days.
